One piece of advise to anyone who hasn't used a Cyclops in Subnautica, DON'T build Power Cell Recharge stations inside the sub. I chose the name, the Nautilus, after my favorite fictional submarine from the Jules Verne novel, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. ![]() Personally I would've preferred a black with red stripes combo but the white color makes it easier to spot underwater. You can also color and rename the Cyclops as you desire. You can also upgrade it with sonar, a temporary defensive barrier, and increase its maximum depth. You have to craft each individual torpedo and load them manually but you can craft an upgrade to the Cyclops that expands the torpedo bay from one to five. By default the Cyclops is rather defenseless, with its only defensive ability being the ability to launch diversionary torpedoes that draw off any would be attacking monsters. It comes standard with a vehicle bay to carry one of the game's two smaller vehicles: the Seamoth submersible and the PRAWN Suit and enough space to add a few extra pieces of equipment to help you in the field. The Cyclops is basically a miniature base you can build (after finding a total of 9 separate pieces of Cyclops debris) that acts as a mobile base of sorts. ![]() As of this posting (9-2-2021) I have not gotten Subnautica Below Zero yet and in my pre-purchase research, I discovered that one of the best features of the OG Subnautica game, the Cyclops Submarine, is absent, replaced by a more modular vehicle, the Seatruck.
